Firebox Door Sheet Die Corners Added
Here you see the new corners ready to be welded to the old door sheet, to be used as a die to form the new sheet.

Firebox Door Sheet Die Corners Added

Saturday, June 29, 2002 by Martin Adams

The old riveted firebox has seams where the sheets overlapped over each other. The door sheet was against the mudring extending about one inch past the seam, tapering down to nothing. With a welded firebox the two sheets will but up against each other. So the bottom corner of the door sheet would have been to narrow to use as a die for the replacement. Jim out a K-manufacturing bent the new corners you see here to match the template.
