Outer Wrapper Patches Welded
John welds the patch to the engineers side of the boiler wrapper.

Outer Wrapper Patches Welded

Friday, July 5, 2002 by Martin Adams

The sides of the boiler wrapper down low and under the cab wasted away from outside. A new patch panel was cut bent and drilled. And is now being welded in place. The bolts at the rear are temporary, they will be replaced with steeple headed rivets. These rivets have been ordered and should be in Astoria in six to eight weeks. You can also see the completed weld on the backhead sheet.
